About Alex

Hi there, I’m an audio producer, editor and writer based in Chicago. I currently work for Sound Opinions, Inc. as a producer on the nationally-broadcasted music radio talk show and podcast Sound Opinions, hosted by Jim DeRogatis and Greg Kot. I’ve also worked as an independent contractor for podcasts and audio projects like More Than a Game by Religion of Sports.

I previously worked from 2014 - 2020 at WBEZ Chicago on Sound Opinions. I began as an intern and ended as a Producer Level II. As of summer 2020, I’ve continued to work at Sound Opinions, which is now an independent show.

On Sound Opinions, I’m responsible for editorial work (brainstorming ideas, booking guests, editing and distributing the show) in addition to collaborating on live events, business and fundraising efforts. Since joining the team in 2014, I’ve produced interviews with Alice Cooper, comedian Hannibal Buress, Nancy Wilson (Heart), Courtney Barnett, John Prine and Todd Rundgren (to name a few.) I’ve also lead produced discussions on the music of Taylor Swift and Carole King, the Chicago Soul scene, sexuality in music, and am the master of list shows.

Prior to Sound Ops, I worked at WGN Radio and Wisconsin Public Radio. I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I graduated with a degree in Journalism and Radio-Television-Film. I love listening to music and podcasts, spin classes, reading and popular culture.

I live in Chicago with my fiancé and my acoustic guitar.
